Bosch introduces its Starlight IP cameras - the next real breakthrough in HD security

The Bosch DINION starlight HD 720P and FLEXIDOME starlight HD 720p RD/VR IP cameras are the next real breakthrough in HD security. In poor light these amazing HD cameras deliver a clear colour image where others show only black and white. And in extreme low-light they deliver a black and white image where others show no image at all! Add the Bosch Video Security app and overcome the bandwidth barrier so you can view HD images from anywhere. Extraordinary low light sensitivity With their high sensitivity in both colour (0.017 lux) and monochrome modes (0.0057 lux), the HD cameras work with minimal ambient light, delivering clear images in a multitude of applications, even where poor lighting is the principle challenge. The 60 fps frame rate helps capture fast-moving objects in applications such as traffic and casinos. Usable images around the clock The starlight IP cameras come with Content Based Imaging Technology (CBIT). This Bosch innovation intelligently combines information from the sensor, image pipe, encoder and Intelligent Video Analysis (IVA) to dynamically optimise the image for every scene. Bosch CBIT-enabled cameras feature two special modes: intelligent Auto Exposure (iAE), which ensures the optimal image of important objects and intelligent Noise Reduction Technology (iDNR) provides the most usable image possible by cleverly optimising the detail-to-bandwidth ratio. By using this iDNR, the image clarity is improved, and the storage requirements are reduced significantly. The 720p starlight HD camera requires up to 30% less bandwidth than other 720p and SD cameras. Use everywhere, view from anywhere By applying the Bosch Dynamic Transcoding Technology, HD quality images can be viewed from any location that has access to the internet, even if the available bandwidth is only 128 kBit/s. The video streams can be viewed from your iPad, iPhone or browser, the free Bosch Viewing Client, or the Bosch Video Management System. Use the App to search for events based on time and date references. Benefit from full IVA support using forensic search, either directly from the App or via the Web browser playback interface. Having found an event or a point of interest, pausing the replay causes Instant Display Enhancement to present the HD image in its original recording quality.

Geutebruck’s new Nano DVR concept for VIPCAM and CAM2IP IP sources

Geutebruck is giving all its systems the capacity for decentralised video recording on standard commercial SDHC cards. This so-called Nano DVR concept enables situations to be documented and analysed without a direct system link to the camera. The latest firmware for the VIPCAM-DN101/PX, an extremely high resolution day/night network camera with a hyper wide dynamic range, and for the CAM2IP, a camera server for integrating analogue cameras into Geutebruck networks, enables video data to be fed straight to the built-in SD card slots whether or not the devices have a network connection. With a preformatted 32 GB SDHC card and using the basic activity detection function or a relay contact to control recording, you can store up to 32 hours of live video in 2CIF format or significantly longer durations with lower picture rates or smaller formats (e.g. 1 fps @ 2CIF = 800 hours). You can switch the activity mode via the input contact of the digital interface, and use the output side for distributing error and status messages. The video data is stored on the card in Geutebruck's proprietary GBF format. It is password-protected and accessed using the card reader provided with the camera or server unit. The necessary GSCView viewing software is copied to the memory card after formatting so that recorded footage can be displayed on any computer with a Pentium 4 processor or better. Older VIPCAM-DN101/PX and CAM2IP devices can be updated for standalone use with the new firmware, which comes in the latest GeViScope software package. For more information, visit its homepage.
