Bosch launched series of firsts to demonstrate total solutions capability

At IFSEC 2006, Bosch Security Systems utilised a new stand design complete with a purpose-built demo suite to highlight its total security solutions capability, evident through its complete range of proven reliable, intruder, CCTV and communications technologies.Included within its intruder portfolio, and being seen for the first time in the UK, is the Abacus Evolution, an innovative intruder alarm panel range comprising two models designed for Grade 2 and Grade 3 residential and commercial applications that removes the burden of EN compliance and is quick and easy to install.  Abacus Evolution offers the highest levels of protection, whilst meeting and even exceeding the stringent false alarm requirements laid down by ACPO and the BSIA.Also look out for Blue Line, a new generation of aesthetically designed, high technology intrusion detectors that provide the optimum performance and maximum flexibility for installers working in virtually any residential/light commercial environment.Completing a hat-trick of new launches is the Connetix range of security communication products for intrusion and fire systems, offering reliable data transmission over a wide range of transmission paths and formats, and a turnkey solution for all audio and video verification needs.Within its CCTV portfolio, Bosch Security Systems will be showing the DiBos 8 family of powerful, network-oriented digital video surveillance and recording systems featuring advanced MPEG-4 digital encoding technology for the highest levels of image quality, information content, and data storage efficiency.  The new machine, which complements its highly successful DIVAR range, allows viewing of both live and recorded images on as many as 62 video channels (per unit), and has extensive communication, networking and systems interfacing features. Alongside the DiBos 8 is the Dibos Micro, ideal for smaller installations with a slimline desktop housing.  It allows the viewing of both live and recorded images on as many as 20 video channels with up to 12 audio channels, and has an internal storage capacity of 400 GB.The company’s IP credentials will be evidenced through its range of Cameras, including the latest Dinion IP high performance surveillance cameras delivering up to 25/30 images per second of DVD-quality video at a true 4 CIF MPEG-4 video resolution, and its Network Video Recorders (NVRs).  Bosch IP Network Video products are compatible with any existing analogue components installed. In the area of Public Address and Voice Evacuation, Bosch Security Systems has launched a new range of loudspeakers in line with market demand for the latest technology that combines optimum reliability and performance with a contemporary look and feel. The first of the four new product ranges is the EVAC Horn loudspeaker, available in 14”/25W and 20”/35W versions with maximum power outputs of 37.5W and 52.5W respectively and a frequency range of 550 – 5 kHz and 280 – 5 kHz.  Both are modular in concept, featuring high efficiency drivers and offering excellent speech reproduction. Both are similarly EVAC compliant. Also new is the Economy cabinet/column range comprising cabinet speaker, corner speaker and column speaker versions.  All feature modern styling, and are available from 6W up to 36W depending on model.  All are easy to install, and although low cost, offer good sound quality for the investment.Third of the new products to be launched are the new Metal Sound Projectors made from extruded aluminium and delivering very high quality speech and music reproduction.  The projectors are available in either a 20W version or a 12W Bi-Directional version and are both EVAC compliant. With the new products, Bosch Security Systems will also show its proven Praesideo technology - the world's first fully digital public address and emergency sound system characterised by the flexibility in the system configuration, simplicity in installation and high-quality audio reproduction.  Completing its display will be the Plena range of PA solutions that can be configured from relatively modest applications up to the largest, multi-zone sites, and is fully compatible with the broad Bosch range of microphones and loudspeakers.

Geutebruck showcases TopLine range including new 2 megapixel day/night network camera
Geutebruck showcases TopLine range including new 2 megapixel day/night network camera

Geutebruck's new TopBC-2188 network camera is a high resolution 2 megapixel day/night camera with a 1/1.8"-CCD sensor and removable IR cut filter for brilliant picture quality round the clock.  Like the others in the TopLine range, this camera supports complex operations with multi-streaming in H264CCTV, MJPEG and MPEG4 video compression formats.  For the discerning security user the H264CCTV format delivers video played back with fluid motion forwards or backwards, even frame by frame, without the usual gaps or jumps produced by other H.264 implementations and through which critical details may be lost.   Designed for license-free use with Geutebruck video security systems, the TopBC-2188's functions include white balance, exposure, electronic shutter (AES), back light compensation, flickerless and automatic gain control (AGC).  It supports text overlay, motion detection, privacy masking, mirror function and an electronic PTZ function.  For easy installation, TopLine cameras can be powered either from a local supply or centrally by PoE. The ‘TopLine' range includes eight box cameras and a fixed dome camera with various megapixel resolutions, sensor types, standard colour and true day/night options.  "Our new TopLine range are all high specification cameras designed for top performance and seamless integration into our systems," comments Frank Brandtner, Geutebruck's product marketing manager.  "There are types and resolutions for all kinds of application and they all provide brilliant crystal-clear pictures. In addition, our advanced compression format H264CCTV, which is specially optimised for security users, guarantees professional video surveillance with completely air-tight event recording."

LILIN launches mini high-speed dome camera
LILIN launches mini high-speed dome camera

As a large manufacturer developing products for volume sales it is unusual for us to develop niche products, however the IPS-2124 is certainly such a thing. It is a high specification internal speed dome with integral IR LEDs, so it lends itself to indoor applications where night time viewing is required but someone turned the lights off! With such a focus on energy conservation these days, perhaps that's not as unlikely as we first imagined, perhaps there are thousands of cameras operating almost blind out of hours because the lights aren't on? This high speed dome has numerous programmable tours and many of the functions can be scheduled to operate differently at different times, so alarm inputs may be switched off during working hours and different patrols set for night time for example. The IPS-2124 is also classified as a "hybrid" device, offering both analogue video output with traditional RS-485 control plus H.264 IP encoding for use on a network, these can even operate simultaneously so may enable easier migration to IP for legacy systems. As with all LILIN IP cameras this speed dome incorporates the ONVIF open protocol for interoperability with other ONVIF compliant systems, providing wide compatibility and future proof plug and play protection. The highly efficient H.264 encoding enables real time frame rates with minimal bandwidth usage plus simple remote viewing by third party devices such as the iPhone and Internet Explorer based browsers. Every LILIN IP camera is supplied with free 32 channel NVR software for viewing and recording on a standard PC.
