Hikvision 4G solar kit for remote security
Hikvision 4G solar kit for remote security

Hikvision, an IoT solution provider with video as its core competency, has launched a new 4G Solar Panel Kit for Standalone Security Sites. This will revolutionize the protection of remote assets in hard to reach places by proving a security camera that runs on solar power. The kit (DS-2XS6A25G0-I/CH20S40) includes a 4G camera, a solar panel, a battery, and a bracket, and can provide one-stop monitoring in remote environments. This means providers can deliver connected security to scenarios such as agriculture, animal husbandry, and forest fire prevention, as well as temporary monitoring of construction sites. The issue of having no power or network is no longer a problem, with the kit providing power to the camera through the solar panel and connectivity through 4G. It sends data to a communication station and then on to the security monitoring centre, where it can be managed using HikCentral Professional, and the HikConnect app. This means both monitoring and management activities, like viewing footage live, can be done remotely over the 4G network. Its lightweight design makes the kit easy to install, so just one person can install it with a pole mount. The IP67 level of protection makes it hardy against rain, and it also survives well against the strong winds often experienced in remote areas. The kit demonstrates long endurance, detecting power levels and automatically adjusting to power-saving mode when they are low. This means it can work continuously for seven days in cloudy and rainy weather when fully charged. Features include: 40 watt solar panel 20 Ah, built-in rechargeable battery 2 MP @ 30fps DarkFighter® for low-light imaging 8 / 4 / 8 mm lens options 30 m IR distance Built-in 4G (LTE-TDD/LTE-FDD/TD-SCDMA/EVDO) module. Hikvision Fisheye IP camera for retailers
Hikvision Fisheye IP camera for retailers

Hikvision has launched a new Fisheye IP camera series (DS-2CD63X5G0) with AI. This 360˚ panoramic camera uses the deep learning technology to deliver a more accurate heat map functionality. It gives an enhanced view of its surroundings – and is especially useful in large retail applications. The cameras’ 360˚ panoramic image of the scene before it, means the user can see a wider area much more clearly. This is enhanced by independent control of a three-way infrared light, which can be separately configured to reduce the amount of ‘reflective’ wall space. This improves image quality, especially when placed in a corner location. The deep learning algorithm focuses only on human targets, improving the accuracy of the heat map functionality. This means users can see ‘hotspots’ in a space, showing areas that people visit, or pass, the most. An added layer to the heat map visualisation makes it a lot clearer than previous technologies, presenting more information in a clearer way. Despite the high quality of the images, the cameras boast extremely light bandwidth, saving storage and costs by using H265+ compression technology. They also support Multiple Expansion Modes, with up to 15 live view display modes available, designed for three different mounts. This means they can be more easily adjusted to meet the users’ exact preferences, and improve their browsing experience. Other features include: New Immervision lens (only 12MP, 1.29mm lens model) Up to 12MP resolution 120 dB WDR Up to 15m IR range Built-in microphone and speaker Smart features: 6 behaviour analyses, and 3 exception detections IK10/IP66 available. The cameras will be a useful addition to retail solutions, with heat mapping helping owners to understand customers’ psychology and identify which products attract the most attention on the shop floor. They can also be used in other large area applications, like train stations and public squares. The series will also be a boon to installers, with the ability to achieve monitoring which has no ‘dead angles’, making the solution more efficient and reducing installation costs. “We pride ourselves on continually advancing our technology and how it is implemented”, says Peter Guan, Director of Channel Sales and Marketing for Hikvision Europe. “This new Fisheye camera will provide clear flow information that will help users to make the right business decisions to make their spaces much more profitable.”

Hikvision releases panoramic camera range with ColorVu for wide field of view in vivid color
Hikvision releases panoramic camera range with ColorVu for wide field of view in vivid color

Hikvision has released a new range of panoramic cameras that use integrated ColorVu technology to provide vivid and full-color video imaging for a wide field of view in light conditions as low as 0.0005 lux: nearly total darkness. Large areas can be very difficult to secure, often requiring multiple cameras to provide full coverage. With traditional cameras, monitoring these kinds of area can also be difficult in low light conditions, or at night. To address all of these challenges, Hikvision has integrated ColorVu into our industry-leading panoramic cameras, which use the 'image fusion' algorithm to stitch together images from two side-by-side lenses for a seamless, 180-degree view. The results are reduced equipment requirements (with fewer cameras needed to cover large areas); improved situational awareness based on a single, wide-angle image and no blind spots; and the ability to capture every detail in full color – even in near-total darkness.  A super-wide angle view, with no blind spots Hikvision image fusion technologies in the new panoramic cameras provide significant benefits over traditional wide-angle cameras. By using 'pixel-level' matching between the images from the left-side and right-side sensors, this prevents any blind spots, or image 'twisting', or 'distortion'. Equally importantly, the image fusion process includes both brightness and color processing technologies that ensures consistency across the entire wide-angle image. This is a significant improvement vs. traditional panoramic cameras, which do not compensate for the different lighting conditions experienced by left- and right-side lenses. AI capabilities that further boost security All models in the new panoramic camera range use Hikvision AcuSense AI technology to differentiate between real security threats and other moving objects such as animals, falling leaves, and heavy rain. This helps security teams to focus on real security incidents, and to minimize costly false alarms. Additionally, the devices can be equipped with Hikvision Live Guard sound and light alarms, which deter would-be trespassers from entering sites or buildings – preventing losses or damage to property and improving safety. Ideal for multiple scenarios and locations The new panoramic cameras provide reliable 24x7 security in a wide range of expansive indoor and outdoor locations. These include parking lots, parks, scenic areas, farms, stadiums, and traffic intersections.

Hikvision expands solar-powered solutions for reliable off-grid security protection
Hikvision expands solar-powered solutions for reliable off-grid security protection

Isolated areas and temporary, standalone applications often do not have electricity and internet connectivity. To help keep these places safe in a simple, practical, and cost-effective way, Hikvision is offering a portfolio of solar solutions – the 4G solar-powered camera kit, a wireless bridge, and mobile solar security tower solutions. In rural and remote areas, infrastructure is often underdeveloped, hampered by steep costs and long deployment periods. As a result, these places often have no electrical grid or broadband network connectivity, making installation of traditional security systems difficult, time-consuming, and costly. Aside from this, many sites require security protection on temporary or semi-permanent bases, such as construction sites, road maintenance projects, seasonal events, incident command, etc. Many of them are in off-grid locations and conditions. What’s more, once the job is done or the event concluded, the security installation is no longer needed.  To address these challenges, Hikvision has created a portfolio of solar-powered solutions: 1) The 4G solar-powered camera kit solution for rural areas This system consists of a solar panel, a mounting bracket, a battery module, and the camera itself, currently available in two storage options, 256 GB and 1 TB. It is ideal for anywhere 4G service is available but where cable internet is lacking, such as, farmlands, fish ponds, highways, city waterways, and others. 2) The wireless bridge solution for isolated environment This solution is ideally suited for use in remote locations where the 4G signal is weak, and data transmission prices are excessive, such as natural reserves and mountainous areas, for example. The combination of a solar-powered camera kit (or solar-powered kit plus a camera) with a wireless bridge can provide just the right kind of wireless internet connection in these geographically challenging environments. 3) Mobile solar security tower solution for temporary sites Comprised of a mobile tower, wireless bridges, network cameras, an NVR, and a network speaker (optional), the mobile solar security tower can be mounted on a trailer for added mobility. This solution is ideal for temporary or semi-permanent security scenarios, where mobile trailers can be towed into place quickly without the need for a separate power source. Locations that would benefit from this type of setup include outdoor parking lots, incident command facilities, construction sites, oil & gas plants, and seasonal cultural events. These solar-powered products and solutions feature advantages such as: Quick and hassle-free installation – Designed to be easy to install, Hikvision's solar-powered camera kits don’t require technical knowledge or professional help to set up. With its own power source and internet connection, cameras can be deployed anywhere without having to route cables, making the deployment process fast, easy, and cost-effective.  Flexibility in deployment scenarios – The Solar Power Kit can power a variety of products to satisfy all kinds of scenarios. Installed at parking lots, solar-powered ANPR cameras can recognize license plate characters and cross-reference the information with access "rules" at the back end. For wide open outdoor areas, Hikvision’s solar-powered PT cameras can capture the entire field of view, while in scenarios where close-ups are regularly needed for post-event investigation, solar-powered PTZ cameras can be used to maintain situational awareness and zoom in to see specific and essential details. 24/7 security protection, in any weather – Isolated areas are often without light at night. Empowered by Hikvision ColorVu technology, the solar-powered cameras offer clear video in these extremely dark environments, with color imaging at up to 8 MP resolution. And with waterproof and dust resistant housings, these cameras can withstand adverse weather conditions such as extremely low temperatures, strong winds, and heavy rains. A cost-saving and eco-friendly solution – Requiring only a single solar panel, the self-contained setup operates for up to 7 days on a single battery charge, which delivers significant cost savings for customers. In addition, powered by clean and renewable energy, the solar cameras not only help to reduce operational costs, they also reduce the carbon footprint, making a positive impact on sustainability.
