Temperature: Standard SSDs typically operate at 0°C to 70°C for applications with some degree of environmental controls. In mobile surveillance recording systems, temperature requirements are expanded to deal with outdoor or adverse environmental conditions. M500IT SSDs are designed to operate at -40°C to 85°C. In addition to ensuring read, write, and erase operations throughout the larger operating temperature range, the M500IT offers excellent cross-temperature performance, i.e. users can write at -40°C and read at 85°C (and vice versa), something not achievable by most SSDs. Endurance: With SSDs, endurance is measured by mean-time-to-failure (MTTF). In mobile surveillance applications, an SSD’s useful life is an important factor as they are deployed in vehicles that are in the field.
